What is it?

I like to call what I do "yoga for the brain".  Much like in yoga, as you practice you strengthen muscles as well as release energy that no longer serves you.  Hypnotherapy is no different.  This is not a magic trick and no, I can't trick you into saying things or giving me winning lotto numbers... To be in hypnosis simply means to be in awareness of the subconscious mind and it's thoughts.  When you bypass the conscious part of the brain you are able to access the location where the mind stores your beliefs, patterns, traumas, experiences, etc.  By acquiring access to this space, you are able to shift your thoughts and patterns.  It is simply a quicker path to the root of what is causing you to be stuck in specific patterns of behaviors and thoughts.  

Hypnotherapy

An introductory session is approximately 90 minutes.  This gives us time to complete a brief questionnaire and discuss what you would like to focus on or accomplish during your visit.  Clients can either sit in a supported chair or you can lie down on a surface of your choice.  As long as we can both hear each other we're good.  You are then led through a guided visualization to relax you and once that is reached, the session begins.  

You will be awake and aware of our conversation and questions.  It is similar to being in a restorative rest space.  Many clients emerge from their session feeling refreshed as if they have taken a nap, even though no sleep has occurred. Although I cannot promise this for everyone, this is the response from the majority of clients I have worked with.  

What's a session like?

1.  How many sessions does it take to see results? It varies from client to client.  Your brain and energy determine that.  You can see shifts in one session but it depends what you are working on.

2.  Do I have to do this in person? No, right now all of my sessions are via Zoom.  

3.  Can children do hypnotherapy? It depends on the issue you are trying to resolve.  We can have a chat and discuss prior to a session being booked to determine if this is the right solution to use.  

4. Will I be awake? You will be deeply relaxed and awake, you will be in conversation with me as we go through the session.  

5.  Do I offer a refund? No, I do not offer a refund for sessions.  If something goes wrong with the internet and we are interrupted and cannot resume the session, then a new session is booked. 

6.  Cancellation policy? Yes, if you do not cancel appointment with 24 hours notice you are charged for your session.  Emergencies do occur and those will be handled as they arise.

I am really obsessed with this one.  No, there is never a 100% guarantee that hypnotherapy works but there is a reason that most of the others things you have tried haven't worked.  The brain is tricky.  It likes to think that it is protecting us by keeping us stuck and in the same place.  In our sessions together, we work to reframe and shift those patterns so that you see growth and empowered changes! You have to want to make these shifts in your life or they won't happen.  If you approach this type of therapy with an open mind, you are on the right path to change.  

A GOOD FIT FOR YOU IF: 

You need a scenery change and able to cleary listen to your needs.  Once you determine the specific thing you want to work on, the goal is to get you to success in the least amount of time possible.

Does this really work?  You have to be the deciding factor in that.  I can honestly say that I have never had a client come to me afterwards and say that their session was a waste of time.  This work is no different than you saying I want to build muscle and have less fat, but you have no interest in picking up a dumbell.  If you believe that you have all the tools you need to be successful and you are willing to put in the work, your payoff will be there.  Believing that you have the ability to heal and no longer suffer is an amazing process.
